Web Typography

We're just getting familiar with @font-face, a relatively new developer tool included in Firefox 3.5 that enables web developers like us to display TrueType and OpenType fonts in websites. This is perhaps the biggest development in web typography since CSS and it's great news for marketers who care about the fusion of off-line and on-line branding elements.

While Verdana and Georgia have special places in our hearts, type-faces on the web have been limited to a narrow selection of "web-safe" fonts for way too long. (Since, like, the beginning of the internet!)

Of course, Safari has supported this type of font linking for a while, but that only accounts for Mac users and small percentage of PCs. With Firefox on board, beautiful fonts can rain down on everyone!

oh, hello!
